My husband of nearly 30 years, lost his father when he was only 4 and his mother when he was only 9. He was the baby of the family. His older sister (who was not married) did the best she could. The older brothers were raising their families. My husband was sorta 'just out there.' Though he has been a fantastic father, he has only been a mediocre husband. Sad to admit and say, our marriage hasn't been up to par noticeably for five years. I have needed to go through some inner healing and grief work myself. Maybe it is easier for a woman. I am not sure. I will pass your wonderful article on to my husband. It will be enlightening for him. Thank you for this truthful and compassionate article.
