This is such an excellent and practical way to put action to the journey of recovery. I was able to visualize the possiblity when the Twelve Steps were describes as "twelve steps to take, twelve disciplines to practice and twelve activities to do." This phrase along establishes a word picture of action, not only for the addicted, but for the person held up in fear or disappointment or even grief. This phrase communicates a new start, a new horizon, a new way. This may sound a bit mellow dramatic, but the concept of Dale and Juanita Ryan's twelve steps motivates the heart and the soul to thirst for change.
