It means a lot to know that you are not alone. I am dealing with a 16 year old that thinks a life of drugs and crime is the way to go. Nothing I do or say can change his mind. That's how I feel. I can't change the decisions he makes, nor can I hold his hand when he does make bad choices. He knows that I do love him no matter what he does. I just want him to grow up to be a good person....that doesn't mean he wants the same thing! Reading this story made me realize that I have to stop beating my head on the wall....and at some point...I too will have to just let go. HE will have to learn from his own choices! Publishing this must have been so difficult! It does mean everything in the world to me, to hear that Good parents have bad kids! You can be there for them, but you can't make them make the right choices. You can just pray they will turns things around on their own.
